This charity’s name may sound familiar to you because of Muumade’s previous donations to the same NGO. One principal reason for supporting them is the fact that this nonprofit is serious about reforestation; they have already planted over a million trees globally! But that is not all. Their mission has shifted recently, and definitely for the better in my mind! They have widen their scope from focusing on planting trees to restoring large landscapes. Their broader approach includes “ways that help ecosystems flourish, improve biodiversity, inspire people for the future, and ensure that local communities have the resources they need to thrive,” to quote their own words.
Eden: People+Planet closely collaborates with local communities to ensure that local needs are addressed in their projects. They plant and nurture native and endemic plants to ensure that local ecosystems remain healthy and strong. They work to restore wildlife corridors by reconnecting ecosystems that have been fragmented by human activity. These corridors allow wild animals to move more freely and thrive in wider and more diverse environments. As their new name suggests, they work to foster healthy environments for both people and the planet to thrive.
